Transportation to Crematory with Mementos

Gentle Aftercare Support

If your pet has passed at home, whether expected or sudden, we can come to your home, offer quiet support, and provide respectful transportation to a trusted crematory. Our goal is to lift the logistical burden from your family while preserving your companion’s dignity and your memories. This service is available even if Boston Twilight Veterinary was not present for euthanasia.

What To Expect

when we arrive, we’ll move at your pace. You can choose a favorite blanket or we can provide one. We’ll create simple keepsakes - a clay paw print and a small lock of fur, if desired - and give your family time for private goodbyes. Your veterinarian will then gently prepare and carry your pet to our vehicle using a soft stretcher or basket. We handle all crematory coordination so you don’t have to make phone calls during a difficult time.

You can elect to have your pet's ashes returned (private or individual cremation) or have their ashes spread in the lakes region of New Hampshire (communal cremation). We primarily partner with a reputable local aquamation facility (providing water-based cremation) known for transparency and respectful handling; if you prefer to use a different facility, we’re happy to coordinate those arrangements as well. We will review urn options, additional memorial items, and the timeline for return of ashes so you know what to expect. If home burial is legal in your municipality and you prefer it, we can discuss safe handling and local considerations instead of cremation.

Many families appreciate that we come directly to the home, avoiding the stress of transporting their pet on their own. This is especially helpful for larger dogs, homes with stairs, or families who simply need a little time and space. Our vehicle is prepared for discreet, secure transport in all seasons. For pets over a certain weight, an additional assistance fee may apply, and we’ll let you know that in advance.

Service area & timing

when we arrive, we’ll move at your pace. You can choose a favoriwe serve the greater Boston region with clear travel zones. Same-day assistance is often possible; evening and weekend availability varies and may include a surcharge, which is posted on our Fees & Service Area page. Payment is due at the time of service, and we accept several common payment methods for your convenience.

If you are unsure what to do first, please reach out. We’ll explain next steps, answer questions about cremation choices, and help you decide what feels right for your family. Whether we are providing transportation to the crematory, or simply guiding you through options, our promise is the same: compassion, clarity, and respect for your pet at every step.
